Beautiful story of how a pet can change a life.

We received this beautiful story from Mike Gabriel about his pet cat Lassie. Mike lost Lassie the first week in September. She was 16 1/2 years old. Lassie is pictured at the right sitting on Mikes hand.

Mike Wrote:    The proof that Lassie was " One in a million is this "... How many people can really say that their cat dramatically changed their life? I realize that all pets do that to some extent ,... but the ability she had to balance in my hand while wearing a turban....and the photo of her on the Cat Yoga card changed my life. I did TV shows, over 100 radio interviews, magazine articles and heard from celebrities. The week before she died, I met Betty White, who is an animal activist and an actress and she asked for a picture of Lassie.

Lassie was cremated and Mike had a custom bronze urn made that has her name on it.

There is no snooze button on a cat that wants breakfast.

About 2:00 am one morning, I heard Rocky milling around. He jumped up on the bed and walked across my legs. I was intent on ignoring him and going back to sleep. He jumped off the bed and started scratching at the sheets at the side of the bed. I was lying on my side with my back to the side of the bed and since it was summer, had a sheet over my body. What I did not know was, Rocky was up under the sheet at the side of the bed. He reached with his paw and found my exposed butt. He touched my butt with one claw. Well, that definitely got my attention. I jumped half way out of bed and got a glimpse of Rocky making his exit from the bed room. He got breakfast.

Room for only one.

Tuesday morning around 4:00 am, Rocky walked across the top of the bed and sat down on the night stand at the side of my bed. He reached over and touched my nose with his paw. He either touches my nose, my mustache or my head when he wants me to get up and get him breakfast. I got up and went into the kitchen and put some food into his dish. I looked around and saw Sassy, but no Rocky. There is another dish in the laundry room so I thought he might be in there waiting for me. I went into the laundry room and put food in the dish, but still no Rocky. Not like him to miss a meal. I went back into the bed room and there he was, laying all sprawled out on my side of the bed. I guess he decided that there wasn't room for the both of us.
